Civil Designer (Commercial)
General Description:
Performs design, detailing, and analysis in Civil design under supervision of Licensed Professional.
Specific Duties:
*Effectively applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs under the supervision of, and subject to, final approval by the Licensed Professional.
*When assigned design-related activities, prepares presentation drawings, and other deliverables as required by the Licensed Professional.
*Assists the Licensed Professional with drawing planning, production, management and adherence to schedule.
*Assists Licensed Professional by providing required information on timely basis and keeping supervisor apprised as to progress of the work.
*Produces well organized construction documents of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness, adhering to team and discipline standards.
*Performs analysis or calculations as required.
*Coordinates work with other disciplines as to dimensions and interference to minimize deficiencies, errors and omissions.
*Assists the Licensed Professional with production of specifications.
*Maintains orderly work file, prepares clear well-written memos/correspondence.
*Advises and assists construction personnel in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents as directed by the Licensed Professional, providing timely solutions to field problems, preparing field orders, addenda’s, and record drawings subject to approval by the Licensed Professional.
*Subject to Licensed Professional's final approval, checks shop drawings and submittals data for conformance with contract documents.
*Adheres to established company standards and policies.
Qualifications:
Civil Engineering Degree, Design detailing, analysis in Civil Design. 5 years of experience.
